In Thomas Friedman’s article, “Why Minnesota Matters more than Iran for America’s Future,” he speculates that what happened in Minnesota during I. C. E. invasion is a model for our future. I would agree. It is a perfect point of departure, a perfect starting point for generating a society in which I desire to be a participant.
Make US great again.
While spending time in his home-state, Friedman realized how this spontaneous eruption, a disorder that could have been prevented by its designers, provoked chaos and a crises that led to a new (old) way of being with one’s neighbors, thus the realization that:
I is my neighbor’s keeper.
His comments about these very trying times reminded me of a video I recently produce from a 1984 presentation by Herbert Brün at the School for Designing a Society. In the video Herbert shares many ideas relevant Friedman’s article under the heading of ethics morals and manners.
Unfortunately justice among peoples remains the privilege of neighbors.
